WACO

The proud hometown of Joshua Tree Adventure Builders and where we draw much inspiration. We are located in the Heart of Texas smack dab between Austin and Dallas, just up the road from the coast and nestled alongside the Brazos river. Here we have a bustling farmers market downtown, many many local shops and cafes, some of the best coffee and spirits and the atmosphere to hold it all. We would love to share some of our favorite spots with you so you can share a little bit of what we love so much about WacoTown.

Waco Downtown Farmers Market

The WDFM was created in 2011 with lots of work and passion for farms and farmers. It is a place to hang out with the community, support local growers and artisans and meet new people from all over. We have been regulars since its beginnings and also work there each Saturday for our favorite honey vendor. We absolutely love seeing the same faces each week and really enjoy chatting with all the out of town visitors that come in to see what the WDFM is all about each week.

Cameron Park

Cameron Park is one of the largest municipal parks in Texas.  Located next door to downtown and the Brazos River, the park is an oasis with towering trees, two rivers, breathtaking cliffs and a National Recreation Trail system. Since the William Cameron Family donated the parkland more than 100 years ago, the 400-acre park has been constantly abuzz with parties, festivals and sports.

Hikers and bikers share the park with fishermen, disc golfers and picnickers. Families and school classes fill Cameron Park Zoo, while other like to stroll along the riverwalk.

Lula Jane's

This is a spot we love for many reasons. First the made from scratch goodness that comes out of the kitchen is unmatched. Their daily lunch options are so good they usually sell out before end of day and they always have woofies....a home baked goodie for our four legged friends. Second, we spend every Saturday morning here while newly married and have such fond memories of quiet moments on the patio journaling or talking about whatever watching the birds with dogs underfoot comfortably resting. Check it out!

Downtown Waco

Downtown Waco...yes! Wow growing up here downtown was a bit different than it is now to say the least but as a budding photographer I loved to explore here hidden alleys and peeling paint from years gone by. Now we practically live here on the weekends. First fridays are a treat with many local downtown businesses staying open late for new and old visitors often with a complimentary treat. Downtown is also home to Dichotomy Coffee and Spirits, Stone Hearth Indian Food, Cameron Trading Company Antiques, Waco Downtown Farmers Market, and so much more! Now wandering the streets downtown can lead you to a movie, many options for drinks, good food, and endless murals.
