Brotherwell has been our favorite since it's inception. Probably because of its wonderful location in East Waco right next door to downtown and family friendly atmosphere. We love that we can take the whole crew and don't feel singled out as those people. In fact you are likely to see many families enjoying the open atmosphere wether inside its large taproom or outside on the plush grass. The brewing is outfitted with lots of games and toys and is always a relaxed time. Oh and their beer speaks for itself......

What can I say?! An amazing, eclectic art gallery in the heart of downtown that is closely tied to the community. We love any excuse to go the gallery wether to check out a new exhibit or an event. 
Personally we have also benefitted from Rebekah's true love for art and artists in that she let me ( Rianna) invite 3 art classes to the space to display their work for their friends that they made during a kids art camp I taught. This was an incredible experience for them to feel valued and get a sense of what it would feel like to be an artist with a showing. She is truly a part of the Waco community and gives selflessly to make it more cultured in the arts! I have also had the privilege of displaying some of my work there in a past exhibition.

This place has it all. A agrarian community built on common values and committed to sharing their lives with the greater Waco community there is so much to do here. We love grabbing lunch or breakfast at their cafe serving healthy and unique fare. Everything they do is done to perfection from the craftsmanship in their buildings to the way they make tea PERFECT every time. They also have a grocery store open to the public where you can find bulk flour, grains and spices as well as local produce and grass fed meat options. In addition their herb and display gardens are always open for observation and teaching opportunities for those homeschoolers out there. In addition you can by GMO/Soy free grain for your chickens or chickens themselves not to mention seeds grown in our area for years! We enjoy their Thanksgiving Festival each year as well. When I (Rianna) was a kit growing up in Wacotown I loved driving by this little shop and imagining what type of junky treasure might be piled floor to ceiling in it. It never seemed to be open until I was in high school or college and then I jumped at the chance to wander down the crowded aisles filled with stuff...stuff with history. Many of my favorite things to this day I have found there including the door in our skoolie! Now days they are only open once a month for a few days but it is worth it to check out if you are in town during that time. This has been a regular place for me for a very long time and we love shopping together now looking for that perfect piece to compliment a new build. Check them out on their facebook page here.
